Why not using AI to save the planet?

Dear all,

I am no expert in AI but I care about our planet and was wondering if a super computer could save it. It’s just an idea but let me explain:

Today, most countries are ruled by people who don’t really care and only use their power for their own interest. A few people are trying to ring the bell about the 21st century’s problems (religions, capitalism pushed too far, pollution, overpopulation, etc…) but they are having a hard time. As it seems like nothing can stop this craziness, I was wondering if building a super AI which could advise the world’s population could be possible. It would basically analyse every possible data and tell the human race what to do to get a better life in a better world. It might sound a bit crazy, and I am totally aware of Stephen Hawking’s warning about AI, but I believe the world needs some advices before it’s too late.

It would be built and controlled by a collective of people with no political/financial/religious interest. Mostly from the scientific community, I guess.

Please let me know your thoughts about this.
